About CPAO
Welcome to the Communications & Public Affairs Office website !
The Communications & Public Affairs Office (CPAO) aims to grow and promote the University’s global reputation for academic excellence, leadership in research innovation, and the positive impact its endeavours are creating worldwide. We also provide strategic communications counsel to the University’s Senior Management and value-added communication services for faculties and departments of the University.
In close partnership with members of the University, together we can produce communications that have impact and that will influence and strengthen the image of HKU.
CPAO oversees various key functions essential for enhancing the University’s image and effectively engaging with its stakeholders. It comprises teams in Brand and Marketing, Digital and Content, Events, Media and Public Affairs, and Publications, collectively managing a diverse range of activities – from organising official ceremonies to handling breaking news stories. Through these efforts, CPAO is dedicated to continuously reinforcing and elevating the University’s reputation.

The President’s speeches and protocol-related communications
In order to help promote and safeguard the image of HKU, CPAO will write or edit communications in English and Chinese which involve the interests of the University as a whole. These include speeches, correspondence, messages and other protocol-related items for the President only.
